The geometry and algebra of the Noncommutative Torus : an example of a quantum topological space.

In this expository work the main features of Noncommutative Geometry will be exposed through a primal example, namely, the noncommutative torus whose main properties will be shown and discussed, then compared with the usual torus in the framework of poisson manifolds through deformation quantization.
