Field equations in poroelasticity for wave, flow and deformation processes

Ponente(s): Pratap Narayan Sahay Sahay
The average motions of solid and fluid phases are the field quantities of the poroelasticity theory, and its equations of motion read as a 2X2 matrix generalization of viscoelasticity with a Rayleigh damping term. However, the state variable in this form is not suitable to describe physical processes associated with the wave, flow or deformation. In this talk, I will show how to transform the equations of motion into forms appropriate for wave, flow and deformation processes through an orthogonal matrix transformation of the state variable specific for each process.
